I’ll just tell you why I’m here today, to chat about the benefits of CBD oil.
All right, great stuff, lovely to to meet everybody today, I just recently was issued my preliminary hemp growers license.
So I’m going to grow some hemp here on the farm next year because my brother has been farming hemp over in Oregon for the last six years and in the last two years i went over and saw the whole harvest procedure and absolutely fell in love with number one: the lifestyle and then number two like how much the plants can do for people.
They’re growing Incredibly rich strains of CBD over there and just doing some amazing stuff with it, and i really felt like it was something that we should be getting into over here.
I’ve started a hemp business here. We’re importing cbd products from my brother’s farm in Oregon. We’re, also going to try and make a few body care products with hemp oil and stuff over the next few months. Ideally about two months, we should have an online shop up and going for people to purchase these and have a bit more information about CBD and what it does for people.
What are some of the benefits of using CBD oil?
CBD oil has gained popularity for its various benefits. It can potentially help manage anxiety, relieve pain, and promote better sleep. Many people wonder how to incorporate cbd oil into their daily routine. It can be added to beverages, mixed with food, or taken sublingually. Finding the right dosage and consulting with a healthcare professional are important aspects when exploring the potential benefits of CBD oil.
What is CBD Oil Good For
Basically, what CBD is, where it comes from and how it’s made and how you get the oil out of the plant. we’ll talk about how it works within your body in your endocannabinoid system and then the entourage effect.
I’m, going to chat a little bit about the different ways you can use it and then there’s just a few little tips and tricks. If you’re, going to go and buy it, what you should look for or what you should be asking your supplier or whoever is going to give it to you.
CBD is a cannabinoid that comes from the cannabis plant. It’s called cannabidiol. It’s a safe non-addictive, naturally occurring compound, which is found in the flower of the plant. CBD is not THC. The cannabis plant produces over 100 different cannabinoids and in total these include THC the compound which, when you smoke it can make you feel high.
CBD does not produce this stoned or euphoric effect like THC, because it reacts in different ways and with different receptors in the Body and the brain studies have found that CBD can help with improving a range of symptoms such as seizures, slowing cancer cell growth, anti-inflammatory in the body, anxiety reduction, and it can improve gut health.
It can help with pain relief and their doing all kinds of research into this at the moment. It’s also very beneficial for general wellness, as opposed to specific symptom treatment because it’s a natural source of vitamins, minerals and nutrients like complex B vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, your micro-nutrients like magnesium and calcium. Then it has proteins and fatty acids.
From there we go on to how CBD oil is made. CBD can be extracted from the cannabis plant using several different methods.
I’m going to go through quickly, four of them here and it’s. This extraction method that will determine whether the active CBDcompound removed from the plant is just plain CBD on its own or whether it is a broad spectrum.
Oil that has all of the cannabinoids that came from the plant in it, so the gold standard for extraction, in my opinion, is CO2 extraction. It uses carbon dioxide to push the oil out of the plant, and then it preserves the quality and the purity of the oil. It’s also a method that is food safe.
It’s been used in food production for over 30 years and it’s very effective and it produces a potent oil. It’s also completely safe for human consumption and commonly added to food and drinks. This extraction method is the same one that they would use to remove caffeine from coffee and also to do essential oil extractions.
It’s got very minimal risk of contamination. The next one would probably be alcohol or ethanol extraction where you would soak the plant matter in the alcohol and then raise the temperature to get rid of all the alcohol, burn it all off.
This method is kind of used for vape pens and cartridges and stuff like that. It’s a very good extraction method. You can lose some of the micro-nutrients and it can break down some of the waxes in the plant.
So then, after that there’s cold press extraction, so this is like pressing or juicing. This will give you the plant in its raw form so you’ll get all of the micronutrients and vitamins oils and all that kind of stuff.
But the CBD that comes out of a cold press is not as bio available or metabolizable by your body. So you’re, not really going to get an awfully high or potent strength of CBD from a cold press extraction.
The last one I’m going to mention quickly is oil infusions, so you may or may not have heard of people doing cans of butters where you take the plant material and then you would submerse it in coconut oil, regular butter or olive oil and you would cook it for at least eight hours to about 85 degrees and that would decarboxylate everything and make all of those cannabinoids bio available for your body.
And then you just strain out all your plant materials and the butter and salt that you’re left with you dose with that. So there’s a couple of the different kinds of oils and extractions.
Then I go on to how it actually works in your body. Inside your own body you have an endocannabinoid system. This produces endocannabinoids in your body and then you also have plant cannabinoids which is the CBD. These in your body will then bind To receptors and then these receptors will send a message to your body to specific processes and functions. So they regulate things like sleep, appetite, mood, motor control, immune function, pleasure, pain, reproduction and fertility, memory and body temperature can also be effected.
So the CBD, in particular, when it gets into your endocannabinoid system, works by blocking harmful compounds from entering these cd1 and cb2 receptors. And then it can guide helpful compounds into the receptors to promote the balance within your body or to reduce the sensation of pain or to inhibit inflammation okay.
So it’s, just a little bit more information about the endocannabinoid system, which was um when it was discovered only in the mid 90s, with these type 1 and 2 receptors. It really helped to understand the crucial role the endocannabinoid system plays in regulating a bunch of different processes in the body like those i mentioned earlier, mood appetite glucose metabolism, blood pressure, pain, perception and a bunch of others, and these receptors are found all over your body.
In your central nervous system or where your cd1s are found and your cb2 receptors are found in your immune system, your spleen, your gastrointestinal system, your tonsils, your brain, the cb2 receptors in particular, are responsible for reducing inflammation, which is one of the primary causes of a Host of different conditions and diseases and can really do a lot of damage to your body.
So this large network of receptors has demonstrated remarkable results in the treatment of many conditions when supported by naturally occurring cannabinoids, like CBD from cannabis. So um from here when you’re, taking your CBD, the um, the power of the entourage effect is is a very big thing.
So there are over 100 different cannabinoids that you can find in the cannabis plant and when you’re extracting, you can extract for individual individual ones, so they can pull out just the CBD by itself, and then people can try and sell you this.
As CBD oil, which it is but a better quality oil will have a range of different cannabinoids in it, and this total effect um usually makes the uh oil more bioavailable, and you ‘ Ll have a better uptake in your body.
If it’s a whole full spectrum oil, rather than just one isolate. So here we go um. What is the best way to use CBD oil? Okay, so it can be used in abundance in several different ways and each way has different benefits um.
So the most appropriate delivery system for CBD is going to be unique to each person and each condition. Ideally, though, it’s going to operate within a perfect trifecta, where it has an optimal dose for a desired duration of time and with few unwanted side effects.
So uh three to three main ways that I’ve, seen CBD used. Um are topically orally and inhalation. So topically is your sprays, your lotions, your salves. These can be applied liberally and directly to the skin and to any affected areas.
They’re great for treating localized pain or swelling, and they’re. Actually, great for lots of skin conditions as well like contact, dermatitis, psoriasis and any inflammatory skin conditions and topicals usually can be effective within five to twenty minutes and they usually last about two to three hours um after that the next one is orally.
So this is the drops that you usually put under your tongue. These have a longer lasting and a more full body effect. They’re, usually great to use in the evening before sleep, and the effects can usually be felt within your body within 30 to 90 minutes, and they can last for up to four hours after that, inhalation will be the next method of use, and So that would be like smoking flour or your vapor oils or um concentrates, and so this has your fastest absorption rate.
So it’s, great for treating something that might be acute or required immediate attention and the effects are usually immediate or within a minute or two, and they can last for one to two hours depending on the dosage.
So um. Also, when you’re using CBD oil and when it comes to, if you’re, taking any other kind of medications, you can. There are some drug interactions with CBD. It’s generally safe um and it doesn’t interact with many common pharmaceuticals, but interactions can get a little bit problematic if you’re consuming incredibly higher doses of CBD.
But always if you’re taking any other prescribed medications, always always consult your doctor before you take any CBD and their knowledge is going to be worth an awful lot on that so uh dosage. Then, when it comes to figuring out the app the optimal dosage for you of your CBD oil – and it varies from person to person and the three things that should be always taken into account – are the strength or concentration of the CBD that you ‘
Re taking your body weight and your individual body chemistry, so you are a unique person and your CBD dose should be only unique to you as well, for you and your condition, and always remember that everybody’s.
Experience with substances, medications, supplements and other things that we put in our bodies are different for everybody else. So what works for your friend or your relative might not work for you find your own way of doing things um another little bit on the dosage, then just a few um quick little do’s and don’ts, always read the Product label for info, such as the serving size, the daily allowance, the total cannabinoids, the cannabinoids per servings, any other ingredients that might contain allergens, or anything like that.
When you’re starting start low and go slow, so 10 micrograms is considered a single serving for an adult. However, if you have no experience with CBD, i would recommend that you start somewhere between two and five micrograms and then build as you go and and evaluate within your own self.
As you go. The next step, then, as well as wait and evaluate. So if you’ve taken a dose wait at least 90 minutes to determine the effects um before you do anything else. With this note, any adjustments before you take any of your next dose and remember.
If you’re, taking it orally that the effects will last longer and also take longer to activate within your body and also anything that you’ve eaten and your digestion, if you have slow digestion or fast digestion, this will also affect How you metabolize the oil so uh number four, as i recommend education to microdose, so once you know what your dose should be for the day it’s, a nice idea to take that and break it up into a couple of different doses over The course of the day it will mean that you can have longer lasting and more optimal effects.
So if you’re going to do this and go on a course of it, i would highly recommend that you keep a paper log or an electronic log or, however, you want to do it and track your dosages, your consumption methods and the effects That you feel until you can tailor your plan to get yourself the results that you desire from the oil and then last but not least, always always discuss the potential benefits and the health health risks with a medical, professional or your doctor and yep.
So let’s, go with the dosage and then just the last little bit is just a few tips and tricks for when you’re going out to buy the oil and if you’re dealing with anybody. That always, of course, speak with your doctor about your other medications, especially if you’re, going to take it orally, whoever you’re buying it from your supplier, quiz them about their best CBD oil knowledge.
It doesn’t even have to be a specific question. Just ask them to talk about the product and if they can’t explain for you about what’s in their product and how it ‘s made, i would be very skeptical the packaging on whatever you’re buying, should clearly state the dosage, how to use it, whether it’s, an oral or a topical, the potency and either the staff or the packaging should Be able to very easily explain this or again, i would be raising red flags or having a proper think about it.
Traceability is also another thing that you can ask your supplier about where the plants were grown, how they were grown. Was it an organic method and how they were cut and cured, because this will all affect the quality of the oil in the end and then also their extraction method, how their plant was processed into oil? These are things that are all gonna affect what you’re, putting in your body um and then the last few bits are basically just beware: the hype, if you see any kind of a CBD product that is promising you, that it’s going to fix all that ails you or be a magical cure, a cure-all.
I would be very, very skeptical and ask all the questions that I’ve said before and then my recommendation is, if you’re going for it embrace the full or the broad spectrum and know the difference between the broad spectrums and the isolates, which are just the single cannabinoids, because that’s, where people tend to get tripped up.
