Is CBD or THC Better For Pain
Does the average person on the street know this answer, is CBD or THC better for pain?
In this video from NBC News, Dr. Alok Patel went to the streets of New York asking people if they knew the difference between medical marijuana and CBD.
Here is what he has to say…
Dr. Alok Patel says I have a couple million dollar words for you: cannabidiol and tetrahydrocannabional. I’m talking about CBD and THC. We’re talking about weed.
“Sir, do you know the difference between CBD and THC”?
What Is Better For Pain and Inflammation CBD or THC?
THC is the chemical in marijuana that actually alters your chemical state of like how you’re feeling. So this person answers “CBD that’s more of a muscular thing and THC it’s more like a mental thing, looks like THC is the psychoactive component”.
So the reason we talk about that is because when it comes to medical marijuana, it’s mostly talking about CBD based products. That’s what the government’s looking at, but THC products have also been known to help people with certain conditions.
Do you know people who have used marijuana for medicinal uses, and I don’t mean like medicinal uses? I mean like actual medical conditions. I’ve heard people like cancer patients and people with PTSD.
I have heard people that have taken like a CBD oil that they put in their IV, you know extreme anxiety and stress. I know some people who have had seizures or bipolar. With a CBD oil they have seen better effects than taking some of the bigger meds.
33 states have legalized medical marijuana and 11 have actually legalized recreational use. People and science have seen that medical marijuana can help with everything. From insomnia, to anxiety, to chronic pain, to even reduce the amount of seizures that some people have. And we have early evidence that medical marijuana might help get people off of more dangerous drugs, such as Opiates and that could save a lot of lives.
How do you feel about medical marijuana being legalized in these days? That’s gonna get heavy I personally think. That’s if it’s used in the appropriate fashion where it’s not causing a harm to society, that is completely fine. I believe yet in the prescription.
If it’s gonna help ease certain people’s pain or health condition. I think it’s a good idea. I think it should be legal because there are people who suffer from chronic illness, millions of Americans.
Marijuana is everywhere right now. It’s a billion dollar industry and you’ve probably seen CBD or THC products in everything from toothpaste to lotions to bath products to dog treats. I’m gonna tell you for sure.
For products that have CBD in them, okay, the three of them are legit CBD products. And one of them I just made up and this is going to give you a sense of the crazy things that are out there. But I want you to tell me which one is not real.
For the first one it’s gonna be life flower, flower child bath bomb. We got milk makeup, kush mascara, honest paws coconut CBD infused dog treats and we have hoppers CBD infused foot deodorizer.
Which one do you think is not a real CBD product?
I mean the mascara will it get you to relax your lashes. Which one do you think is not real he asks a woman and she answers “dog treats”. Final answer? I feel like a shouldn’t, be she says. Another person says “it’s the first one”. You don’t think the bath bomb is your own bubble? Which one of those four is not a real product?
CBD mascara is real. I don’t know what CBD do for mascara I mean I don’t know cuz I don’t wear mascara. But some of the dog treats are real, so the boot deodorizer is not a real product.
Okay, like how do they keep it on their feet? They wanna relax their feet as they walk. I’m curious about your opinion on CBD oil. What have you seen from the outcomes of CBD without the THC right now? CBD is the one that we have more information on about the medical uses.
It’s more studied from the cannabis plant. The hemp plant actually has more distribution in the United States.
I’ve seen benefits reported to me so meaning I’ve not seen them in research papers. I’ve not seen the data but anecdotally from people talking to me. I’ve heard of benefits from both. So with legalization will hopefully be able to study more and will better understand what the right doses and what exactly the both can treat.
